Meet rostov the great!
I invite you to immerse yourself in the past and present of Rostov the Great! You will pass around the Kremlin, admire Lake Nero, inspect the Dormition Cathedral from the outside and inside. I will tell you why it is impossible to name the exact date of the foundation of the city, what people inhabited these lands before the arrival of the Slavs and what reminders of it have survived to this day.

The Kremlin, Cathedral Square and more
You will visit the Cathedral Square, visit the ancient Assumption Cathedral, erected under Basil III, and learn about its difficult fate. You will walk around the Rostov Kremlin and find out why this is not the Kremlin at all. And I will also show the famous cathedral belfry with an unusual set of bells and share the story of their salvation.
Stable yard and Lake Nero
We will see the restored Stable Yard, then walk through the earthen Dutch fortress to Lake Nero. I will reveal why it is called so and why you can not swim in it. The walk will end at the wall of the Metropolitan Garden - the one from which the heroes of the famous Gaidai film jumped. Finally, I will talk about modern Rostov – you will learn what and how it lives today.
