Girona is a ticket to the middle ages!

Welcome to a city where, without any special effects, you will be transported straight to the Middle Ages. I will guide you through the old streets of Girona, share local legends about rescue flies, vampires and the "magic triangle". You will look at Girona from a height, taste Michelin ice cream and understand the intertwining of Gothic and Baroque.

What awaits you

The city of thousands of legends and thousands of steps
On the streets of medieval Girona, you can easily understand why this city served as a scenery for the series "Game of Thrones". I will help you feel its special atmosphere through local legends: I will reveal the mysteries of architecture, take you through the "magic triangle", where you can catch luck by the tail, tell you about the patron saints of the city and the miracles and legends associated with them, preserved in the Girona chronicles.

History of Girona in the streets of the Old Town
Step by step you will discover the most interesting places of the medieval city:

  • On the onion promenade, we will admire the bright houses and compare Girona with Florence.
  • At the church of St. Felix of the 4th century, we will discuss the legend about the flies that saved the inhabitants of the city.
  • The Monastery of St. Peter will help you to imagine the medieval life of Girona – we will talk about this, admiring the towers of the city from the observation deck of the monastery.
  • Let's take a look at the public Arab baths of the 13th century and see how they appeared in Girona.
  • We will find the ancient Roman heritage of the city and discover the secret of "coins in stone".
  • At the Cathedral, consider the harmonious combination of Gothic and Baroque.
  • We will step on the Eiffel Bridge, erected long before the Paris Tower.
  • And we will also walk along the fortress walls and the street of jewelers, discuss how the most Girona sweetness and the cheerful acrobat Tarla are connected, talk about the fate of the Jewish Quarter and walk under the palace of vampires to make a coffee break in the most romantic place of Girona.

After the walk, for those who want to eat, I will show the place where Michelin ice cream is prepared, and the restaurant where Salvador Dali and Gala liked to look.
