Yalta historical and modern

Yalta is juicy colors, cozy parks, a picturesque embankment and the indescribable smell of the sea. You will walk through the ancient streets, learn about the development of the city and understand why it is called the "Russian Riviera". And also hear non-trivial stories about our magical resort and get useful advice from a local resident.

What awaits you

Inside Yalta We will start a walk at the Nicholas Chapel, where Yalta received the status of a city. I will reveal how for several decades an unknown fishing village turned into the best resort in the country and why Yalta was called the "capital of consumption". And I will also tell you about local apartment buildings, fashionable hotels, shopping arcades, cottages and baths. In addition, I will show the main Orthodox shrine of the city – the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral.

Past and present of the city
Walking along the embankment of Yalta, you will appreciate the exquisite houses in the style of Renaissance, Art Nouveau and Neo-Greek with mighty Atlanteans and mysterious caryatids on the facades. In the New Town you will see where Mussorgsky, Mayakovsky, Nekrasov, Chekhov and Lesya Ukrainka lived and worked. And also find out who and how advertised crimea in the Russian Empire. We will also touch upon the sad pages of the city's history: the Red Terror, the years of occupation and the restoration of Yalta after the war.
