Far Eastern mini-Baikal
Amut is located in the Solnechny district of the Khabarovsk Territory, in the center of the Myao-Chan range at 761 m above sea level and is surrounded on all sides by mountains. The average depth of the lake is 20 meters, but in some places it reaches 70 meters. Some call Amut "miniature Baikal" because of the elongated shape and cold clean water: transparency in some places reaches 25 meters! It is not fully known how the reservoir appeared on the surface of the earth. Scientists have not yet studied the bottom of this lake completely, so it can store many secrets. And in this place there is an amazing microclimate. Even in winter, the temperature here is 5-10 degrees warmer than in the rest of the area.
