From kemer - to the places of ancient lycia. demre-mira-kekova
This excursion combines Christian shrines, ancient antiquities and a yacht trip. You will go to Demre, where you will touch the sarcophagus of St. Nicholas and examine the frescoes. In Mir, visit the huge amphitheater and take a closer look at the faces on the rock tombs. And then you swim near the sunken town of Kekova.
What awaits you
The Church of St. Nicholas in Demre. This is the resting place of Nicholas, one of the most significant Christian saints. You will inspect the sarcophagus, where his relics were kept until the XI century, and you can turn to the saint with prayers. You will hear about the miracles and amazing life of Nicholas, as well as admire the frescoes of the XI and XII centuries.
The ancient city of Myra. Once it was the capital of the state of Lycian - you will hear about its fate, about the impressive structures that were erected here in honor of the Roman emperors. About the greatness of the city will tell the amphitheater, which accommodated up to 10,000 people, as well as the rock tombs of the richest Lycians.
A yacht trip near Kekova Island. You'll sail past an ancient fortress, sunken amphorae and tombs, and then we'll drop anchor to swim in the turquoise waters and relax after a hot day.
