What awaits you

Main sights and observation deck
The historical part of Cheboksary is the one that survived after the flooding of the city in 1980. That's where we're going to go.

  • We will stop near the stone with runes, opposite the National Museum, a symbol of the ancient Chuvash writing.
  • Let's walk along the renovated Red Square and look into the open-air museum.
  • On our way you will see a light bridge - the longest illuminated tunnel in Russia. Then the Monument to the Patron Mother - the main dominant of the city. The oldest prison in Russia and the temple, built in the middle of the 17th century with preserved frescoes.
  • And you will admire the views from the observation deck.

Past: Events, Architecture and People
In a couple of hours you will discover many entertaining facts and plots from the life of the city with a 550-year history. For example, you will learn how Cheboksary almost turned into Venice. Hear about a Chuvash merchant who built a house for his beloved, where all the windows are different. You will get acquainted with the temples of early Orthodox buildings, with old houses in the Baroque and Art Nouveau styles.
