Gates of the City
We will meet at the main entrance to the city and the most beautiful defensive structure: at the Royal Gate. It was through them that the eminent guests of Königsberg entered, and we will follow their example. In the museum "Royal Gates" I will acquaint you with a wonderful exposition dedicated to the founders of the city and Peter I: I will tell you the history of the formation of Königsberg, the construction of the royal castle, the three kings who had the greatest impact on the development of the city, and the arrival in Koenigsberg of Peter I. Then we will look into a cozy souvenir shop located right in the poterna - an earthen rampart, the former city wall. And then we will visit another defensive structure - the Friedland Gate. In them, cunning museum workers organized virtual walks through the old town and a real sewerage museum. Here I will tell the story of Königsberg of the 19th century and the life of that century.
Underground labyrinths
For some time we will leave the city for the sake of a monumental defensive structure - Fort No. 11 (von Denhoff), where it is no longer me, but other experienced guides who will not let us get lost in the underground labyrinths and tell us about the defensive structures of the Second World War, about the difficult assault on Koenigsberg and its powerful forts. Then we will return to the city to get acquainted with the exposition of the dugout of Commandant Lyash, where the commandant of Königsberg hid behind the gate with runic signs during the assault of 1945. I will tell you what else is remarkable about this place and tell you about the exposition.
You will discover the history of Königsberg as a walled city, learn about its foundation, ruler and way of life, as well as understand the history of its assault and feel proud of our grandfathers who broke such a powerful system, and in the end you will have a delicious lunch in a restaurant with German cuisine "At Aunt Fischer's".
