Exhibition of scientific and technological art stage 2022

Do plants have sight? What does coffee smell like for a covid patient? Is it possible to recreate the soil of galilee in the time of Christ and turn thoughts into music? Graduates of the master's program "Art and Science" at ITMO tried to answer these and other unusual questions.

STAGE 2022, the first annual art&science exhibition in St. Petersburg, is held for the second time. Visitors will see installations created at the intersection of science and art.

For example, the installation "I Hear You: Parosmia and Other Ghosts of COVID-19" explores how a coronavirus patient perceives smells. The Miracle Technology project is an attempt to create wine from the time of the first miracle of Jesus, recreating for this purpose the soil of that era and those climatic conditions. Equally interesting is the interactive installation Plantoverse - the opportunity to see yourself with the "eyes" of the plant and reconsider your relationship with the world of flora. The Imaginary Music project shows how you can transform thoughts into music, and install love. eschatology. Machine is a digital cast of love - emails from two lovers left in the cloud after the feelings ceased to exist.

These and other unusual experiments were placed in the building of the former house church of Peter and Paul, where ITMO laboratories are now located. The bold intervention of contemporary art and technology in the historic building itself looks like art, and the unique ideas of young authors can make every viewer believe in what at first glance seems impossible.
