Exhibition "treasures of the tomb of tutankhamun"

What secrets does the famous tomb of Tutankhamun hold? Is there a Curse of the Pharaohs? Why did the Egyptians fill the tombs of the rulers with thousands of precious objects? Try on the role of an archaeologist and find answers to all your questions!

The year 2022 marks the 100th anniversary of the discovery by British archaeologist Howard Carter of the legendary tomb of Tutankhamun. In the untouched tomb by the embezzlers, he discovered thousands of works of art, among which was the death mask of the pharaoh made of gold and precious stones. This event became a real sensation in Egyptology, revived people's interest in Ancient Egypt and influenced other spheres - cinema, literature and even fashion.

Pavilion No. 33 of VDNKh presents museum replicas of artifacts from tutankhamun's burial chamber. Egyptologists, artists and restorers worked on the creation of more than 100 exhibits. Jewels, household items, statues of deities, a bust of Nefertiti, a sarcophagus, the same death mask - these and other things not only introduce ancient Egyptian art and its powerful symbolism, but also give an idea of how ancient people comprehended life and death.

Every visitor will be able to feel like an archaeologist and get in touch with the secrets of the past!
